Injection molding supplier for Georgia, USA

Trumould is not a Georgia molder. Tooling and molding run from our own facility in Delhi, India, and parts reach Georgia by sea through the East Coast or by air. This page sets out what that means for a buyer in Atlanta, Savannah or anywhere else in the state: transit times, who pays the duty, what we hold on tolerance and certification, and the cases where a molder down the road is simply the better call.

Why a Delhi molder has a page for Georgia

Buyers in Georgia search for injection molding suppliers in their own state, and a share of them are really asking a wider question: whether a program that is stable, high volume and cost sensitive could be tooled and run offshore without the risks that sent many of them away from China. That is the question this page answers. It does not pretend to be local. The presses, the tool room and the quality inspection for anything quoted through this page are in Delhi, at the address on every quotation, and the parts cross an ocean before they reach you.

Distance does not change who handles the account. A project engineer is assigned at quotation and stays through first article and into production, so a question about your part goes to someone who has reviewed the drawing, not to a sales desk relaying email across time zones.

Getting parts to Georgia

A Georgia shipment normally travels as ocean freight to an East Coast port, and the typical figure for that lane is 40 to 55 days from our dock. The Port of Savannah is the usual gateway for Georgia buyers, with the inland leg to Atlanta or a plant elsewhere in the state added on top by truck or rail. Air freight takes 5 to 8 days and suits a first article shipment, a rush replenishment or a light part; for a real production volume, sea almost always wins once the freight cost is spread over the piece count. These are typical logistics figures rather than a number we control, so the quotation names the mode and a date instead of relying on this page.

The Incoterm decides who does the customs work. FCA Delhi, the default, hands the shipment to your forwarder at our dock. CIP to a named US port moves the main carriage and insurance onto us. DDP moves everything, customs clearance and duty included, onto us, and the price you see is the price delivered. The mechanics of each, and what a bulk export order needs on paper, are on bulk injection molding exporter.

US import duty, stated honestly

Duty on an Indian-origin molded part depends on its HTS classification and on any additional tariff measures on Indian goods in force on the date of entry. Those measures have changed more than once recently, so we do not print a rate on a marketing page that would be stale by the time you read it. On FCA or CIP, ask your customs broker to classify the part before you compare our price with a domestic quote; on DDP, the duty is inside our number and the risk of a change sits with us until the goods clear. Either way, landed cost is the figure to compare, not the ex-works piece price. What drives injection molding part cost breaks down the tooling and piece-price side of that sum.

Press fleet and tolerance

The presses that would run a Georgia order span 25 to 3,000 tons, all owned rather than subcontracted. Anything heavier than the 8 kg our own presses can shoot moves to a named partner press, flagged as such on the quote rather than passed off as in-house work. Tolerance is called to the DIN 16742 groups: ±0.1 mm as the working default and ±0.05 mm on CMM-verified critical features when the drawing calls for it. If your drawing uses ASME Y14.5 notation, that is fine; send it as it is. The full specification sheet is on injection molding capabilities, steels and tool classes on molds and tooling, and resin grades on materials.

How the schedule adds up

New tooling takes 4 to 8 weeks to first article, depending on tool class and part complexity. First article samples usually travel by air, 5 to 8 days. Once you approve them, production parts leave within 3 working days of the purchase order and then spend 40 to 55 days at sea. Added up, a first production shipment reaches a Georgia port roughly 10 to 16 weeks after the tooling order, plus however long your own sample approval takes. After that the lead time is the sea leg, so a program run from India plans its safety stock around seven to eight weeks of pipeline rather than a weekly truck. How to get an accurate injection molding quote covers what a first RFQ needs so the quoted dates hold.

When a Georgia molder is the better call

Offshore tooling is not the right answer for every program, and a supplier that says otherwise is selling. A molder in Georgia or the wider Southeast will usually serve you better when the design is still changing week to week, when the total run is below roughly 500 pieces (where CNC machining or 3D printing often beats any tool), when the line needs weekly just-in-time replenishment and you cannot hold seven weeks of stock, or when the program requires IATF 16949, ISO 13485, cleanroom molding or US-origin manufacture. Our quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and nothing more; scope is on the quality page.

Where India does earn its place is a stable, released design with a meaningful annual volume, where tooling cost and piece price matter more than a short replenishment loop, and where a buyer is diversifying away from a single China source. The reasoning behind that shift is on manufacturing exodus from China, and payment terms, tool ownership and IP handling are on how it works.

Questions

Frequently asked

What Georgia buyers ask before sending a first RFQ to a molder in India. Each answer comes from the sections above.

Ask an engineer
Does Trumould have a factory, warehouse or sales office in Georgia?

No. There is one facility and it is in Delhi, India: Plot No. 67, Rajasthani Udyog Nagar, GT Karnal Road, Delhi 110033. Parts for a Georgia buyer are molded there and shipped by sea or air; there is no US plant, no US warehouse and no local drop address.

How long does shipping from Delhi to Georgia take?

Sea freight to the US East Coast, which is where a Georgia shipment normally lands, typically takes 40 to 55 days; air takes 5 to 8 days at a much higher cost per kilogram. Onward delivery from the port to Atlanta or elsewhere in the state is added on top. These are typical figures, not a delivery promise; your quotation states the mode and a date.

Who pays US import duty on parts made in India?

It depends on the Incoterm. On FCA Delhi or CIP to a US port the buyer clears the shipment and pays the duty; on DDP we clear it and the duty is inside our price. The rate itself depends on the part's HTS classification and on the tariff measures in force on the date of entry, so we do not print one here.

When is a Georgia-based molder the better choice?

When the design is still changing week to week, when the run is below roughly 500 pieces, when you need weekly just-in-time replenishment without holding stock, or when the program requires IATF 16949, ISO 13485, cleanroom molding or US-origin manufacture. We hold ISO 9001:2015 only, and we would rather say so than lose your schedule to it.
